The JP ES 007 lets the Panigale 899 run without its secondary air solenoid and without the warning that normally follows the moment the connector is pulled apart.

A Conventional Swingarm

The Case for Doing It Before Mapping
Secondary air injects fresh charge into the exhaust port after combustion, and every exhaust gas reading taken while that is happening is diluted by it. A fuelling map built on those numbers inherits the error and carries it everywhere. Removing the system first is not about power; it is about the numbers meaning what the person reading them thinks they mean.
Cold Start Is When It Runs
The system does its work in the first minutes after ignition, when the catalyst is still warming and the mixture is richest. A fault therefore often appears on a cold morning and disappears from the rider's mind by the time the motorcycle is warm, which is exactly why the warning stays on the panel.
