Yamaha sold the FZ8 in more than one guise, and the application list reflects it. From 2010 there was a naked version, a half-faired S and a standard entry, all built around the same four-cylinder engine and aimed at riders who wanted something between a commuter and a sports bike. Accossato covers them together under the FC124, a quick-release fuel tank cap machined from aluminium whose pawl carries a pin in one of six colours.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato machines the FC124 from aluminium alone on CNC equipment and describes the result as robust and durable; the design is a new one. The quick-closing pawl gives the cap its name, opening the FZ8's tank in one movement and securing it in another, which is exactly what is wanted when a session has just ended and the next one is twenty minutes away. Colour is decided by the pin, with six shades on the list, and the pawl itself can be ordered on its own if it is ever damaged.
Naked, S and Standard on One List
Reading an application list properly is half the work of buying a part. Here Accossato has three separate lines for one model: the FZ8 800 for 2011 to 2015, the FZ8 800 Naked for 2010 to 2012 and the FZ8 800 S for 2011. Taken together they give the span of 2010 to 2015 that this listing carries. The names come from the manufacturer's own records rather than from the badge on the side panel, so do not be surprised if your bike is described slightly differently from the way you would describe it yourself. Road Approval
No German ABE and no parts certificate are documented for the FC124, so the cap is sold for closed circuits. The FZ8 keeps the cap it left the factory with for road use, which normally opens with the ignition key.
