In competition an air filter is a consumable. It is inspected between sessions, cleaned whenever it needs it, and set aside when a team decides it has had enough of a season — not because the material failed, but because nobody in a paddock gambles a result on a part that is quick to renew. Sprint Filter specifies this same element for the working life of a motorcycle. Both statements are true at once, and which of them describes your CFMOTO SS 675 depends entirely on what the bike is used for.
Key Features
- The racing specification of the P08 line: 85 microns, a rated 15,000 l/m²/sec
- Woven dry polyester with no coating — nothing to apply and nothing to migrate
- About twice the surface area of a typical performance element
- Takes the series panel's place in the SS 675 airbox without modification
- Cleaned with compressed air rather than thrown away at an interval
- Warranted two years from purchase, whichever way the element is used
The same cloth on two different clocks
The difference between those two lifespans is not in the material; it is in who is counting and what they are counting for. A race team replaces on a schedule of risk, because an unknown is worth more to remove than the part is worth to keep. An owner replaces on evidence, because there is nothing at stake next Sunday and a panel that cleans up to its original condition has no reason to leave the bike. Same element, same weave, same warranty of two years — two entirely different definitions of when it is finished.
Buying it for the road anyway
People do, and it deserves a straight answer rather than a shrug. This element asks a little over two and a half times what the standard weave for the same airbox does, and the difference buys a higher rated flow along with an aperture five microns wider. On a road-ridden SS 675 the first has nothing to spend itself on and the second is a small standing concession over a long service interval, so the standard cloth is the better part in every practical sense. It is also the case that neither adds speed: a drop-in element does not make a standard SS 675 noticeably quicker.
Care and cleaning
Time is the only thing a service costs. Direct compressed air at the clean face and work it right across the panel, so that whatever the cloth held travels out by the route it came in. Where a deposit is greasy instead of dusty, lukewarm water with a small amount of mild detergent releases it, and the rinsing continues until nothing further shows in the water. Drying takes place in open air alone; heat of any kind damages the material, so no radiator, hot-air gun or flame comes near it, and the SM290S F1-85 returns to the housing only when it is dry throughout. The maintenance sheet is in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
Made for the CFMOTO SS 675 of 2025 and 2026, one element per machine. Three CFMOTO 675 models take this code; the SS 450 is a separate airbox under a separate number. Check capacity and model year in the Fitment tab.
