Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – Voge Brivido R (2021–2026) CM251S

Every performance air filter promises more air. The question worth asking of the Brivido R, catalogued across six model years from 2021 to 2026, is what a filter leaves behind in the intake tract. An oiled cotton element carries a treatment that has to be reapplied after every wash and can travel downstream as a fine film, towards the very sensor the engine trusts to meter incoming air. The Sprint Filter CM251S carries no treatment at all. It is polyester cloth, run dry from new, regenerated with air rather than out of a bottle.

What a dry medium saves you

Two things, one obvious and one not. The obvious one is work: washing an oiled filter means re-oiling it evenly and waiting for it to wick before the box can be closed again. The other is contamination. Anything applied to a filter face sits upstream of the throttle body and the intake air sensor, and an injection map is only as good as the readings it is fed. Retention does not suffer for it, either. In Sprint Filter's own comparison the P08 held 93.13 per cent of 100-micron test particles, against 76.42 per cent for a four-layer oiled cotton element. Dry and loose are not the same word.

Six model years, one honest claim

Say plainly what the part is for. A drop-in filter does not give a standard Brivido R noticeable extra power, and any listing that promises it is describing a different product. Over a run this long the element earns its place somewhere else: the intake holds one known resistance instead of drifting upward between services, and nothing on the machine will ever tell you that the drift has begun. Where the riding is more dust than tarmac, Sprint Filter also catalogues CM251P14 for this airbox, a dry non-woven at 14 µm and 1,800 l/m²/sec — finer, and slower breathing for it.

Care and cleaning

Take the CM251S out and blow it through with compressed air from the clean side outwards; most of the time that is the whole service. When a season has left a film rather than dust, lukewarm water and a little mild detergent will lift it. Rinse until the water is clear, then let it dry completely in open air — heat, a flame or a hot air gun would damage the weave. Refit it dry. The maintenance sheet sits in the Downloads tab.
