DescriptionThe whole story▼
Keeping your chain clean between services shouldn't be a chore, and with the Oxford Mint Chain Cleaner it isn't. This 500 ml aerosol delivers a powerful, fast-acting formula that cuts through chain grease, oil residue and road grime in one pass — leaving the chain, front sprocket and swingarm spotless and ready for fresh lubrication. At this price and volume, it's the everyday chain care staple every garage should have on the shelf.
Key Features
- Deep-penetrating spray formula dissolves stubborn grease and baked-on road dirt from within the chain links
- Safe on all sealed chain types — O-ring, X-ring and Z-ring — so there's no risk of damaging the seals that keep your chain alive
- Leaves zero residue after evaporation, giving you a perfectly clean surface for chain wax or chain oil to bond to
- Suitable for motorcycles, bicycles and e-bikes — one can covers every chain in the household
- Not tested on animals, and formulated with a fresh mint scent that makes workshop use noticeably more pleasant
- Also available in a 750 ml workshop bottle for higher-volume users
Performance in Practice
The Oxford Mint Chain Cleaner uses a slow-evaporating, high-performance solvent base that gives the spray time to work before it lifts away. Unlike fast-flash solvents that push dirt around the surface, this formula dwells long enough to break the bond between contaminants and metal. Spray it on, let it dwell for a moment, agitate with a chain brush if needed, then rinse or wipe clean. The result is a chain that looks and performs as it should.
Part of the Mint Maintenance System
Oxford designed the Mint Chain Cleaner to work directly alongside Mint Chain Lube. The cleaner prepares the chain by stripping away old lubricant and contamination; the lube then applies to a fully clean surface for maximum penetration and longevity. Using both together is the most cost-effective way to extend chain life and maintain efficient drivetrain performance — reducing wear on the chain, front sprocket and rear sprocket in the process.
Fitment & Compatibility
Universal fit — compatible with any motorcycle, bicycle or e-bike using a standard roller chain with O-ring, X-ring or Z-ring seals. Suitable for use on the chain, front sprocket, rear sprocket and swingarm. Verified compatible across the full range of machines including Aprilia RSV4, Ducati Panigale, BMW S1000RR, Honda CBR 1000 RR-R, Kawasaki ZX-10R, Suzuki GSX-R, Triumph Daytona and Street Triple, Yamaha R1 and R6, KTM RC 390 and RC8, MV Agusta F4, and all other chain-driven models.
