The separating piston or bladder inside keeps gas and oil apart; if it fails, the damping goes with it. A soft reservoir usually means the bladder has failed rather than the gas has leaked. The reservoir holds the gas charge and the oil volume the damper displaces as the shaft enters it.

Genuine Service Part

Öhlins supports its suspension with individual service parts, which is why a fifteen-year-old damper can still be rebuilt to specification. This is an original Öhlins part, not an aftermarket equivalent — the tolerances are the ones the unit was assembled to. Order by part number — descriptions repeat across sizes, numbers do not. We can check the number against the Öhlins exploded view before you order — just ask.

Identifying the Right Part

If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 00302-16. dimension a 44 mm, dimension b 80 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. Hose length is specific to the installation and cannot be substituted freely. The reservoir takes the oil the shaft displaces as it enters the damper.

Fitting and Setup Service

A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 00302-16

Category: Reservoirs

Dimension A: 44 mm

Dimension B: 80 mm

Finish: Black

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/00302-16_58eb6e7a-61f4-41bb-85ac-205f172d518b.png?v=1788869081
