TTX Technology and Racing Performance

The TTX (Through-flow piston X) architecture at the heart of the FKR 119 represents a fundamental rethink of cartridge damping. By routing oil through the piston in both directions and pairing it with the slender 8 mm piston rod, Öhlins dramatically lowers the pressure differential across the piston. The result is a fork that tracks surface irregularities with exceptional sensitivity at corner entry, maintains traction through mid-corner compressions and extends with consistent resistance under braking — the three moments that define fast, confident riding on a GSX-R.

Build Quality and Setup

The pressurised closed-circuit design means there is no reliance on external nitrogen chambers and no associated risk of seal degradation causing damping fade mid-session. The three 04744-series springs included in the kit give the technician an immediate starting point: lighter springs for a smaller rider or high-grip circuits, firmer springs for heavier riders or bumpy tracks. Fine damping adjustments are made in the conventional Öhlins manner, and the complete kit is backed by a full installation guide.
