A spherical bearing in the eye lets the damper follow the linkage arc without side load.

Key Features

Dimension A 36 mm

Original Öhlins service part

Dimension C 25 mm

Öhlins part number 00272-02

Dimension B 21 mm

Function

Öhlins publishes 36 mm, 21 mm, 25 mm for 00272-02 — the dimensions are the identity of the part. Eye width and bore diameter both have to match the chassis mount. Top eyes with an integrated preload adjuster are listed as one part. A worn eye bearing is often mistaken for tired damping.

Original Öhlins Part

Öhlins keeps service parts available for units long after they leave the current price list. A damper that can be rebuilt is a damper that stays on the bike; that is the whole argument for original service parts. Tell us the damper's model designation and year and we will match the number for you. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on.

Identifying the Right Part

Öhlins identifies this position by the number 00272-02 in the exploded view for the unit it belongs to. Öhlins states dimension a 36 mm, dimension b 21 mm, dimension c 25 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Eye width and bore diameter both have to match the chassis mount. Öhlins machines the eye from the same billet as the body on many units.

Fitting and Setup Service

We are an authorised Öhlins service centre, so you do not have to source the tools and the nitrogen: send us the damper and we rebuild it with the correct parts and the correct setting.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 00272-02

Category: End Eyes

Dimension A: 36 mm

Dimension B: 21 mm

Dimension C: 25 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/00272-02_7f9d818b-8bf2-4d4d-b83c-680d2cc513ae.png?v=1788869038
