DescriptionThe whole story▼
Unlock the full potential of your Ducati Panigale 1199 with the K-Tech DDS Closed Cartridge Kit — a pressurised direct damping system that transforms everyday road riding and track days alike. Engineered around a 20 mm piston and a 31 mm control piston, it delivers consistent, cavitation-free damping whether you are navigating commuter traffic or pushing hard into a fast chicane.
Key Features
- Direct Damping System (DDS) technology eliminates cavitation for stable, predictable fork action in all conditions
- 30 clicks of independent compression and rebound adjustment give you precise control to suit your riding style and road surface
- 18 mm of preload adjustment allows fine-tuning of ride height and spring load without specialist tools
- 20 mm inner piston and 31 mm control piston optimise oil flow for responsive, linear damping feel
- Proven at the highest level of motorsport — British Superbike championship and Isle of Man TT — yet equally at home on a Sunday morning ride
- Supplied with three pairs of springs and the required installation tools, so you can set up and ride without hunting for extras
Performance You Can Feel Every Day
The DDS Closed Cartridge design replaces the standard internals of the Panigale 1199 forks with a self-contained, pressurised cartridge. Because the system separates the oil and air chambers, it stays consistent lap after lap and mile after mile — there is no fade or vague mid-corner feel that can creep in with conventional open cartridges as temperatures rise. The result is a fork that feels equally composed on a bumpy B-road as it does on a smooth circuit, making it a genuinely practical upgrade for riders who use their 1199 in the real world.
Adjustment and Setup
K-Tech include suggested baseline settings to get you on the road quickly: 16 clicks compression, 18 clicks rebound, and 10 mm preload. From that starting point, the 30-click range in both compression and rebound means there is ample scope to dial out understeer on turn-in or calm a choppy front end over mid-corner bumps. The oil and air chamber length is set at 185 mm as standard, and the 125 mm stroke provides the full compliance range the 1199 chassis was designed around.
