DescriptionThe whole story▼
Precision fork suspension for the Ducati Panigale 1299 S and R demands hardware that can match the bike's exceptional chassis capability. The K-Tech 25IDS Open Cartridge Kit delivers exactly that — an independently adjustable 25 mm damping system engineered to give serious road and track riders granular control over compression and rebound, with a stroke increase over the OEM cartridge and aerospace-grade materials throughout.
Key Features
- 25 mm Independent Damping System (25IDS) provides 30 clicks of independent compression adjustment and 30 clicks of independent rebound adjustment, allowing precise tuning without compromise between the two damping circuits
- Increased stroke compared to the original cartridge, enhancing suspension travel and improving compliance over technical surfaces
- Aerospace-grade aluminium construction with hard-anodised, super-finished components for outstanding durability and reduced friction under repeated cycling
- Suggested baseline settings supplied — compression 12 clicks, rebound 18 clicks, preload 8 mm, oil/air cap 145 mm — giving a reliable starting point for your setup
- Compatible with the full range of K-Tech 36-260 series springs, purchasable separately to match your weight and riding style exactly
- Installation at an authorised K-Tech Service Centre is recommended, ensuring correct assembly and protecting the integrity of the system
Engineering & Build Quality
K-Tech's 25IDS architecture separates the compression and rebound circuits entirely, so adjusting one characteristic does not inadvertently alter the other. That independence is what sets this cartridge apart from conventional OEM or entry-level aftermarket units. The 25 mm inner diameter cartridge runs in hard-anodised, super-finished aluminium housings that minimise stiction and maintain consistent damping force throughout the stroke — critical when lap times and rider confidence depend on predictable fork behaviour.
The use of aircraft-specification aluminium keeps weight competitive while providing the rigidity needed to resist deflection under hard braking and high-load cornering typical of the Panigale 1299 platform. All components are finished to tight tolerances, reflecting K-Tech's heritage in high-level motorsport.
Road & Track Use
Whether the Panigale 1299 S or R is your weekend road weapon or a dedicated circuit machine, the 25IDS system scales with your ambitions. On the road, softer compression and rebound settings absorb surface imperfections while maintaining the sharp steering the Panigale is known for. On track, dialling in additional damping stiffness reduces dive under braking and squat under acceleration, sharpening corner entry and exit without sacrificing feel. The wide 30-click adjustment range means you are never chasing the limits of the system — there is always room to refine.
Fitment & Compatibility
This cartridge kit is exclusively compatible with the S and R variants of the Ducati Panigale 1299 produced between 2015 and 2018. It is not suitable for the standard (non-S, non-R) Panigale 1299. Springs from the K-Tech 36-260 series must be ordered separately — they are not included. Installation by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre is strongly recommended.
