DescriptionThe whole story▼
The K11-generation GSX-R 600 and 750 have become the value entry to SuperSport racing, and the quick examples are rarely running Suzuki's own engine management any more. Yoshimura's system takes over the ignition circuit along with everything else, and JP SPK 011 is the kill switch wired for it.
Key Features
- Made for GSX-R 600 and 750 machines converted to Yoshimura management
- One part number spans both capacities, 2011 to 2017
- Ignition block, barrel and key are removed outright
- Around 350 g comes off the fork crown
- Ergal billet housing, IP69K button
- Terminates in the Yoshimura ignition connector
The Wrong One Will Not Plug In
There are two GSX-R kill switches in the JetPrime range and they are not interchangeable. A bike on the standard Suzuki loom needs the other number. This one ends in the Yoshimura connector, and no adapter is offered. Looking under the seat for the ECU takes less time than arranging a return.
Two Capacities, One Chassis
Suzuki built the 600 and the 750 of this era around a shared frame and a shared electrical layout, separated mostly by bore and stroke. The ignition mounting is identical, which is why one switch serves both — handy in paddocks where the same rider owns one of each and swaps parts between them across a season.
No Key Box Needed Here
Road-going kits ship with a Key Box because the factory immobiliser has to stay in circuit. A GSX-R on a full Yoshimura race loom has already lost that system along with the standard harness, so the housing has nothing to connect to. What matters on this build is the part that is left: a machined, sealed button that works with gloves on and starts the bike after a red flag.
