DescriptionThe whole story▼

BMW integrated the winglets into the fairing flanks for the 2023 S1000RR rather than bolting them on as separate appendages, which is a harder packaging problem and a better-looking answer. These replace the original elements on the standard mounts.

Key Features

  • Pair of winglets, direct replacement for the 2023 aerodynamic elements
  • 245 Twill weave in clear coat, matt or raw
  • Autoclave-cured laminate with the rigidity an aerofoil loaded at its tip requires
  • Original mounting points and fasteners, fairing untouched
  • Raw carbon is the lightest and least expensive of the three

Stiffness, Not Downforce

The shape here is BMW's shape, so the aerodynamic behaviour is BMW's behaviour. What changes is the material: an autoclave-cured laminate holds an aerofoil section under air load better than a moulded plastic part of the same thickness, and a wing that deflects is no longer the section it was drawn as.

That is the whole technical case, and it is a modest one. Anyone quoting a downforce figure for a replacement part of unchanged geometry is inventing it.

Fitment and Compatibility

BMW S1000RR, model years 2023 and 2024, on the original winglet mounts. The 2019-2022 machines take a separate article and the 2025 model takes neither.

Road Approval

Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. It reproduces an original body component, but confirm the position for your own registration before road use.

Where Gloss Earns Its Money

Winglets are small, prominent and seen head-on, which is the one combination where clear coat is worth the premium rather than merely being the expensive option. Twill under gloss at this scale reads unmistakably as carbon from the pavement.

Matt suits a motorcycle built around a dark scheme, where gloss elements look added rather than integrated. Raw is the paddock answer: cheapest, nothing to chip, and honest about what the part is for.
