DescriptionThe whole story▼
Few upgrades articulate a rider's commitment to craft quite like a Fullsix carbon tail fairing. This left-hand, two-piece unit for the Ducati Panigale 959 (2016–2019) is manufactured using full autoclave technology, delivering the dense, even fibre consolidation that separates genuine race-grade carbon from lesser alternatives. The result is a component that carries the visual heritage of Ducati's own motorsport programme — unmistakable weave, razor-sharp edges — while reducing unsprung mass and holding ABE road-use approval so it can be registered and ridden legally without any additional paperwork.
Key Features
- Produced from 100% genuine carbon fibre using autoclave technology for superior material density, stiffness and longevity
- Two-piece construction ensures structural integrity across the full tail section and faithfully echoes the OEM panel geometry
- Exact OEM fit with pre-drilled, matching mounting points — plug-and-play installation, no modifications or specialist tools required
- Holds ABE road-use approval: fully legal for public road use without separate registration
- UV- and weather-resistant finish prevents yellowing or fading over seasons of road and track use
- Available in 200 Plain (the classic close-series Ducati weave pattern) and 245 Twill (a finely interlaced, contemporary racing aesthetic)
- Choice of Glossy, Matte or Raw (untreated) surface finish to suit your build direction
Design, Finish and Heritage
Fullsix has built its reputation on one principle: carbon bodywork should look, fit and perform as though it left the factory alongside the original panel. Every component references the precise shut-lines and curvature of the factory fairing, so there is no gap-filling, no shimming and no compromise in the finished appearance. The 200 Plain weave is the structure Ducati itself has long favoured for its production superbikes — a tightly regular grid that reads as understated and refined. The 245 Twill introduces a diagonal rhythm to the weave, catching light from a greater range of angles and lending the Panigale 959's tail a distinctly competition-bred character.
Surface finish is a personal statement. The Glossy option (part numbers MD-9915-C57 and MD-9915-TC57 depending on weave) presents a mirror-like lacquer that amplifies every detail of the carbon structure. Matte (MD-9915-M57) takes the sheen down to a tactical, non-reflective plane that reads as purposeful rather than decorative. Raw (MD-9915-TR57) leaves the carbon surface treated but unlacquered — the preferred choice for builds where the owner intends to apply their own clear coat or simply wants the most direct relationship between material and machine.
Installation
Remove the original left rear fairing panel, locate the Fullsix unit on the factory mounting points and secure with standard fasteners. The two-piece panel separates and reassembles in the same manner as the OEM part, so track-day preparation or post-season cleaning adds no complexity to the routine. No cutting, bonding or bespoke hardware is required.
