DescriptionThe whole story▼
Riding north to the fjords, or across the Pyrenees in late October, is the sort of trip the Yamaha XT1200ZE SUPER TENERE was built for. Accossato lists its AGPA97 front pad in the Sintered compound, SKU AGPA97ST, for the ZE model from 2014 to 2019 and the Raid Edition of 2018 and 2019. It is aimed at long-distance riders who meet cold mornings, soaking rain and long descents on the same day and want a front brake that does not change character along the way.
Key Features
- Sintered (ST) front pad, SKU AGPA97ST
- Yamaha XT1200ZE SUPER TENERE, 2014 to 2019, incl. Raid Edition
- Accossato: high grip that stays level from cold to hot
- Accossato: dependable bite on a wet disc
- For long trips in changing climates
- One set of two pads per caliper
- Rear pad AGPP121 listed
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato states that the Sintered compound keeps a high and constant level of grip at low and high temperatures and grips well in the wet. On an XT1200ZE SUPER TENERE heading through several climates in a single trip, that constancy is what counts. Accossato adds slow wear and reduced fade to the list; we state that once and give no details of the material.
Northern Routes and Late-Season Trips
Travel far enough and the weather stops being a choice. A morning ferry in fog, an afternoon of rain along a coast road, then a cold, clear evening on a mountain pass: the front brake of a loaded XT1200ZE SUPER TENERE has to work the same way through all of it. A Sintered pad is picked for that job, with a pressure point that does not drift as the disc warms or cools. If your bike mainly shuttles between home and office on dry roads, the OR compound will be gentler on the discs.
Fitment and Compatibility
This front pad appears in Accossato's list for the Yamaha XT1200ZE SUPER TENERE from 2014 to 2019, as well as for the Raid Edition of 2018 to 2019. The ZE has two front calipers, one on each disc, so two boxes are required. For the rear of the XT1200ZE SUPER TENERE, Accossato offers AGPP121 for the same period. Renew fluid that has aged, push the pistons back only after cleaning them, and give the new pads some gentle stops before the first loaded day.
Road Approval
No test mark or ABE has been made available to us for this pad. We therefore list it for racing and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
A box with two Sintered pads, to fit one front caliper.
