DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Accossato 19x20 with a folding lever for 1-inch handlebars carries the same promptest 20 mm pivot distance as its fixed-lever sibling, built around a 19 mm piston for dual-disc front brakes, but with a hinged lever that folds rather than standing rigid. Accossato does not recommend this ratio for everyday street use, since the shorter stroke it gives asks for more hand force than the 18 or 19 mm settings, positioning it instead for track and competition riding. The black folding lever, long or short, is machined for the 25.4 mm clamp fitted to Harley-Davidson Touring and Softail handlebars.

Key Features

  • 19 mm piston diameter, suitable for dual-disc braking systems
  • Fixed 20 mm lever pivot distance, the promptest in the 1-inch range
  • Built for 1-inch (25.4 mm) handlebar clamps
  • Folding lever in black, long or short, with relieving eyelet (RST) or without (NRST)
  • Forged aluminium body with natural anodising
  • Offset riser that reduces master cylinder deflection under hard braking
  • Stainless steel mounting screws and a zinc-plated bleed valve
  • Seals manufactured from Formula 1 compound material

Construction and Material Quality

Forged in aluminium and finished with a natural anodising process, this unit is made in Italy to the same specification Accossato applies across its 1-inch range, with stainless steel mounting screws, a zinc-plated bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals fitted as standard. An off-set riser limits bending of the master cylinder body while the brake is applied hard, and the passive stroke, the travel before the pads bite, stays more than 50 percent shorter than on a conventional radial master cylinder, the same reduction Accossato builds into every unit on this platform.

Folding Convenience at the Promptest Ratio

The 20 mm pivot distance on this unit is the same prompt, firmer-feeling ratio used on the PC006 fixed-lever version, chosen when the lever stroke needs to stay as short as possible and a rider is willing to trade some lightness at the lever for that quicker response; Accossato still does not recommend it for everyday street riding, pointing to track and competition use instead. What differs here is the lever mechanism itself: a folding design that tucks the lever in rather than leaving it rigid, a detail some riders prefer for storage or for reducing the risk of a snapped lever in a low-speed tip-over, without changing the 19 mm piston or the braking behaviour the 20 mm ratio delivers.

Fitment and Compatibility

Our records confirm this master cylinder for 19 Harley-Davidson motorcycles, all drawn from the Touring and Softail ranges, such as the Harley-Davidson ROAD GLIDE LIMITED (2020-2024), the Harley-Davidson LOW RIDER (2018-2021), the Harley-Davidson BREAKOUT (2018-2025), the Harley-Davidson STREET GLIDE (2017-2023) and the Harley-Davidson ROAD KING CLASSIC (2017-2019). Every confirmed model, with its exact years, is detailed in the Fitment tab on this page, which you should check against your own registration before buying.

Road Approval

This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

The package includes the Accossato 19x20 radial brake master cylinder for 1-inch handlebars, fitted with the black folding lever in the reach selected. Stainless steel mounting screws, the zinc-plated bleed valve and the Formula 1 compound seals are assembled on the unit. The stop light switch, available separately as ID001 or ID002, and the fluid reservoir are not included and must be purchased separately.
