DescriptionThe whole story▼

Owners of a Triumph Tiger 800 XR tend to use the rear brake more than they think: to trim speed mid-corner, to steady the bike when filtering, to hold it on a hill start. Accossato lists its AGPP89 rear pad for the XR from 2015 to 2020, and this is the Organic (OR) version. Its purpose is calm, gentle control for riders who spend most of their time on ordinary roads and in town, and who want the rear disc to wear as little as possible.

Key Features

  • AGPP89OR rear pad, Organic (OR) compound
  • Listed for the Triumph Tiger 800 XR from 2015 to 2020
  • Accossato: lasting performance, reduced disc wear
  • Gentle, progressive pedal response
  • Low noise for urban riding
  • Two pads in the box, one rear caliper
  • Also offered as ST

Construction and Material Quality

The Organic compound, says Accossato, keeps its performance over a long period and limits the wear it causes to the disc. For a rear brake, which works often but rarely at full force, that is a sensible balance. Accossato's general claims for its pads include slow wear, restrained heat against fade and dependable stopping.

Light Touch at the Pedal

A soft, predictable rear brake makes low-speed riding easier on a tall bike like the XR. Think of tight turns in a car park, walking-pace traffic or a steep village street: a pedal that feeds in gently avoids sudden weight shifts. Organic pads are also known for running quietly, which is welcome in town. Riders who often carry a passenger in bad weather will find the ST version of AGPP89 closer to their needs, but for solo everyday riding the OR pad does the job with little fuss.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPP89 for the rear of the Tiger 800 XR across the model years 2015 to 2020. The front pad AGPA72 is listed only for 2015 to 2018, so the rear listing covers two more years than the front. When fitting, clean the piston, check the rear disc, top up the fluid if needed and pump the pedal until it is firm. Bed in the new pads with a few gentle stops before riding normally.

Road Approval

No German ABE or test mark is on file for AGPP89OR. We offer it for racing and competition use.
