DescriptionThe whole story▼
Rounding out the pair of crankcase plugs Accossato lists for the 350SX-F, the SEP01 closes a separate opening from the BEP01, both covering this bike's 2011-to-2017 build. Each is a quiet, unremarkable part until one goes missing or starts to weep.
Key Features
- Crankcase plug for the KTM 350SX-F, 2011 to 2017
- Accossato code SEP01, fits a separate location on the engine casing
- Available in orange or blue
- Accossato also lists a second crankcase plug, BEP01, for this bike
- Same part also listed for the Husqvarna FC 350, FE 501 and KTM 450SX-F, among others
- No German ABE on file; built for off-road and competition riding
Construction and Material Quality
Built to seat in its own dedicated spot on the 350SX-F's casing, the SEP01 doesn't overlap with where the BEP01 fits, so both are needed if both have gone missing or cracked. Orange and blue are a styling choice only. A plug that no longer tightens down firmly, or one that's clearly been forced at some point, is worth replacing rather than left as is.
Checking Both Plugs, Not Just One
A rider stripping the bike down for a full service has every reason to check both crankcase plugs properly, yet the SEP01's own spot further round the casing makes it the one more likely to get skipped during a quicker once-over. Building a habit of checking both together, rather than treating the more visible one as representative of the pair, avoids a second parts order down the line. This matters more on a race bike that's already seeing hard use.
Fitment and Compatibility
2011 through 2017 is the span Accossato names for the 350SX-F under the SEP01. The same plug also fits the Husqvarna FC 350 and FE 501, as well as the KTM 450SX-F, part of the wider family built on this engine, so a garage running more than one of these bikes can keep a single spare. Confirming the exact build year against that list before ordering is still worth the extra minute.
Road Approval
No German ABE is on file for the SEP01, so Accossato lists it for off-road and competition use rather than for use on public roads.
Scope of Delivery
