DescriptionThe whole story▼
Accossato's STMX mixture is its compound for off-road riders, and because the AGPA29 plate is shared with motocross bikes, it is also listed for the Triumph Bonneville Bobber Black from 2018 to 2023 and the Bobber 1200 of 2021 to 2023. On a cruiser this is a niche choice. It suits owners who ride their Bobber on gravel roads, dusty farm tracks or unsealed mountain passes and want a front pad designed for dirt.
Key Features
- AGPA29 front pad for the Triumph Bonneville Bobber, 2018 to 2023
- Bobber Black and later Bobber 1200 per Accossato
- STMX compound for off-road riders, SKU AGPA29STMX
- A niche option for gravel and dusty lanes
- Designed for dirt and contamination
- OR, ST and EV1 as alternatives
- Two pads per box
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes STMX simply as its compound for off-road riders, without further details. We keep to that description. The maker's general claims for its pads, limited heating against fade, slow wear and strong braking, apply here too.
Gravel Roads on a Bobber
Some Bobber owners enjoy leaving the tarmac behind: a gravel road to a lake, a dusty track to a remote café, an unsealed pass in the mountains. On those surfaces, dust and small stones reach the brakes constantly. The Off-road sintered STMX compound is designed for riding in dirty conditions. On a Bobber, that makes it an option for owners who regularly ride on unsealed roads. For normal road riding, the OR, ST and EV1 versions of this plate are more appropriate.
After a Dusty Ride
Rinse dust and grit from the front brake after riding on gravel, and check the disc for scoring. Small stones trapped between pad and disc can cause grooves.
An Honest Word
STMX was developed for motocross and enduro. On a heavy cruiser used mainly on tarmac, it offers no advantage, so choose it only if unsealed roads are a regular part of your Bobber's life.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA29 for the front of the Bobber Black (2018 to 2023) and the Bobber 1200 (2021 to 2023). The earlier Bobber 1200 (2017 to 2021) takes AGPA72, and both plates are listed for 2021. One box covers one caliper. The rear pad for the Bobber is AGPP89.
Road Approval
We have no ABE or approval documents for AGPA29STMX. It is offered for competition and off-road use.
Scope of Delivery
Two STMX front pads for one caliper of the Bobber.
