DescriptionThe whole story▼

Accossato makes its front pad AGPA97 in EV2 racing, SKU AGPA97EV2, and lists it for the Yamaha XT1200Z SUPER TENERE from 2010 to 2019. On a big adventure bike, this is a specialist choice for owners who take the machine to the circuit in timed or competitive formats, for instance endurance-style club events or dedicated track sessions for large bikes, and who want a racing compound on the front for heavy braking at the end of the straight.

Key Features

  • EV2 racing compound, SKU AGPA97EV2
  • Yamaha XT1200Z SUPER TENERE, 2010 to 2019
  • Accossato calls it a top racing compound
  • For timed and competitive track sessions
  • Designed for repeated heavy stops
  • One set of two pads per caliper
  • Rear pad AGPP121 also listed

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato calls EV2 racing a top compound for racing. On an XT1200Z SUPER TENERE used on track, it is aimed at repeated, hard stops. We keep to Accossato's wording, add no figures, and note only that the company also describes its pads as slow-wearing and resistant to fade through controlled heat.

A Heavy Bike on Track

A big adventure bike on a circuit places heavy loads on its front brake, with a lot of weight shifting forward every time the rider slows for a corner. Riders using EV2 racing on the XT1200Z SUPER TENERE should check pad thickness after each session, keep an eye on fluid condition and allow the brake to cool on an in-lap. For a bike that sees the track only once or twice a year and spends most of its life on the road, EV1 is the more suitable version; ZXC is the ceramic alternative.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPA97 for the front of the Yamaha XT1200Z SUPER TENERE from 2010 to 2019, also under the name XTZ 1200 SUPER TENERE. There are two front calipers, so two boxes are required for a complete change. For the rear of the XT1200Z SUPER TENERE, Accossato offers AGPP121 for the same years. Clean the pistons before pushing them back, check the fluid afterwards and pump the lever until the brake is firm.

Road Approval

We hold no ABE or test certificate for this compound. It is sold for racing and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

One box of two EV2 racing pads, one front caliper covered.
