DescriptionThe whole story▼

With its road chassis and strong triple, Triumph's Tiger 1050 and its successor, the Tiger Sport 1050, have always leaned more towards sport than adventure. For riders who enjoy that side of the bike, Accossato offers front pad AGPA38 in its EV1 street/track compound, listed for the Tiger 1050 from 2007 to 2013 and the Tiger Sport 1050 from 2015 to 2019. It is aimed at those who brake late on twisty roads and enjoy the occasional amateur track day.

Key Features

  • AGPA38 front pad, EV1 street/track compound
  • For the Triumph Tiger 1050 (2007-2013) and Tiger Sport 1050 (2015-2019)
  • Accossato: excellent grip for road and amateur track use
  • Sharp, strong bite for sporty riding
  • Two pads per box, one front caliper
  • Also made as ST, EV2 and ZXC

Construction and Material Quality

EV1, in Accossato's description, gives excellent grip for road riding and for amateur use on track. It is designed for riders who brake with purpose and want a direct feel at the lever. The Italian manufacturer's general claims for its pads include slow wear, fade resistance through limited heat and strong stopping power.

The Sporting Side of the 1050

A Tiger Sport 1050 rewards a brisk rider on a tight mountain road, and the Tiger 1050 before it had the same character. Riding them that way means braking hard and often from high speed, and a pad with a crisp, strong bite makes those stops easier to judge. At an amateur track day, the pad has to deliver lap after lap. Before a sporty outing, check pad thickness, disc condition and the age of the fluid, and let the brakes cool before parking afterwards. For loaded touring in all weathers, the ST version is more suitable.

Fitment and Compatibility

One plate serves both bikes: AGPA38 is catalogued for the original Tiger 1050 of 2007 to 2013 and for the later Tiger Sport 1050 of 2015 to 2019. Nothing is listed for 2014, so owners of a bike from that year should confirm the part with their dealer first. Each front wheel carries a pair of calipers, which means ordering two boxes. At the back, the Tiger Sport 1050 takes AGPA76. Push the pistons home only after cleaning them, and run through a set of progressively firmer stops to bed the new pads.

Road Approval

We hold no German ABE or test mark for this pad. It is sold for track and competition use.

Scope of Delivery
