DescriptionThe whole story▼
On a long ride, the right hand is the hardest-working part of the rider. It holds the throttle for hours, and on the Ducati SuperSport 950 S it is also the hand that must find the front brake the moment traffic bunches up or a bend tightens. If the lever sits too far out, the fingers stay stretched all day. The Accossato EDF099 is a machined aluminium brake lever for the 2021 to 2024 SuperSport 950 S that lets you bring the blade to where a relaxed hand can reach it.
Key Features
- Brake lever for the SuperSport 950 S, 2021 to 2024
- Adjustable distance between blade and handlebar grip
- Fits the original front master cylinder
- Rigid blade without a hinge
- Machined from aluminium on CNC equipment, anodised
- Hub in black, blade in any of seven colours
- Short, standard (about 138 mm) or long, depending on the colour
- Each lever in its own Accossato box
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato mills this lever from aluminium and anodises it afterwards. Anodising is an electrochemical treatment that turns the outer layer of the metal into a hard oxide which takes up the dye, so the finish is part of the component rather than a coat on it. The hub, black on every EDF099, holds the pivot bore and the reach adjuster. The blade runs as one solid piece from the hub to the tip, without the joint of a folding lever, so there is no second pivot that could add play.
The Hand That Also Holds the Throttle
Riders who cover big distances on the SuperSport 950 S often keep two fingers resting on the brake lever through towns and in dense traffic, ready to squeeze without moving the hand first. That habit only works if the lever is close enough. With the blade set too far out, resting the fingers on it means a constant stretch, and by the afternoon the tension has crept into the forearm. Bringing the EDF099 closer with the adjuster lets the fingers lie on the blade while the palm stays loose on the grip. Out on the open road, when the hand goes back to simply holding the throttle, the lever is out of the way again.
Set Up Like the Rest of the S
The S comes with fully adjustable suspension and a two-way quickshifter, so much of the bike can already be tuned to its rider. A lever with adjustable reach applies the same idea to the controls: set it once in the gloves you tour in, sitting on the bike with your hand in its usual place.
Fitment and Compatibility
This product is the version for the SuperSport 950 S, listed by Accossato from 2021 to 2024; the base SuperSport 950 has a listing of its own. The EDF099 takes the place of the stock blade on the original master cylinder. Accossato's list shows no clutch lever for this bike, so the brake lever is sold on its own. Colour and length are chosen together: black and red come as standard levers only, silver as standard or short, and blue, gold, green and orange in all three lengths.
Road Approval
No German ABE has been documented for the EDF099, which is why we offer it for track use only.
Scope of Delivery
Delivered as a single brake lever, in the colour and length selected, inside an Accossato box.
