It is worth saying plainly which rider this element is for, because on a Panigale V2 it is not everyone. The P14 filters down to 14 microns and flows 1,800 litres per square metre per second; the standard P08 filters to 80 microns and flows 5,050. If your V2 sees track days and clean, sealed roads, the P08 is the better-matched part and this page should not talk you out of it.

When the finer medium is the right answer

There is a second kind of V2 owner, and rather a lot of them: the one who rides a superbike as a road bike, in summer, on roads that run past fields and quarries and building sites. Air that looks clean carries a great deal of fine particulate, and the finer that particulate is, the more of it a coarse element lets through. For that rider the trade works the other way round — a third less flow costs nothing measurable on the road, while six times finer retention keeps abrasive dust out of a 955 cc engine that will be expected to run for a very long time.

Honest about the trade

An air filter cannot be finer and freer at the same time; the two properties pull against each other, and any product claiming both is describing marketing rather than physics. What Sprint Filter offers instead is a choice between two dry, oil-free, washable elements that fit the same standard airbox with no modification and no remap. Choose by where the motorcycle is actually ridden, not by which number looks larger. Both are cleaned with compressed air and both are designed to last the life of the bike.

Care and cleaning

Blow it through from the clean side with compressed air, working outwards — a non-woven medium releases dust readily and needs nothing else in normal use. For a deeper clean, wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, rinse until the water runs clear, and let it dry fully in air; never with heat, never with a flame. Refit it dry.
