Once an element is no longer carried by the standard mounting, whatever holds it becomes a real component instead of a moulded surround. Carbon fibre does not swell when the medium is washed and does not corrode afterwards, and it keeps the sealing shape the assembly had when new — useful on a part meant to come out and go back in many times.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eWorth saying plainly before anyone orders\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis is not a power part. An element sitting inside an airbox does not make a standard F3 800 noticeably stronger, and nothing about a larger one changes that verdict. It runs to roughly four times the standard road element for this machine, and what that pays for is construction, cloth area and the labour of installing it. The 800 is listed from 2012 all the way through 2026, so the bike may be nearly new or well over a decade old. Reworking a housing is far easier to justify on a machine that sees circuits than on one that does a commute.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eCare and cleaning\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eRegeneration is mechanical rather than chemical. A compressor line held against the clean side of R135S-SBK and blown outward returns the weave to something close to its original state, and usually that is the whole procedure. A dirty spell that survives air comes out with tepid water and a little mild detergent, rinsed through until the run-off is clear. After that it needs time and moving air and nothing else: heat guns, radiators and open flame are all off the list, because heat is what polyester will not survive. It is refitted dry and untreated.
