DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Puig Roadster windscreen brings a refined, semi-fairing aesthetic to the BMW R18 without sacrificing the raw, custom character that defines the bike. Measuring 290 mm tall by 260 mm wide, it is sized to deflect enough wind to take the edge off long runs, while keeping the upright, relaxed riding posture the R18 was built for — making all-day comfort far more attainable without altering the cruiser's silhouette.
Key Features
- Acrylic construction blended with high-impact resistance for lasting clarity and durability on extended rides
- Two attachment points with two distinct bracket types — mount via the fork tubes or the headlight screws — for precise fitment without compromise
- Steel and chrome fasteners complement the R18's classic styling while providing solid, rattle-free retention
- Rounded profile edges improve safety margins and give the screen a purposeful, finished look
- UV-resistant material prevents yellowing and hazing, keeping the screen optically clear season after season
- Certified to ABE KBA 38188 CS2b and DOT 1312, so it meets German and international road-use standards
Design and Build Quality
Puig engineered the Roadster screen with a rounded profile — no sharp edges that could snag a glove or cause injury in a spill. The acrylic is resistant to shocks and impacts, a quality that matters on the open road where stone chips and debris are unavoidable. Chrome and steel hardware ties the screen visually into the R18's period-correct detailing, so the addition reads as factory-considered rather than afterthought.
Aerodynamics and Riding Comfort
At 290 mm in height, the Roadster screen manages airflow rather than blocking it entirely — the intention is to lift turbulence away from the chest and reduce buffeting at touring speeds, without creating the windtunnel bubble that would feel out of place on a motorcycle with the R18's custom DNA. The result is improved stability in crosswinds and noticeably less fatigue on motorway stretches, while the motorcycle still breathes and feels alive beneath you.
Fitment and Compatibility
Designed and approved specifically for the BMW R18 across the full production window of 2021 to 2026. Two attachment options — fork-bar mounting or headlight-screw mounting — are included, giving flexibility across model-year variations. Please review the ABE certification document carefully to confirm suitability for your specific motorcycle configuration before fitting.
