A settled spring lowers the machine and steepens the steering without anyone changing a setting.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 15429-02

Function

Öhlins publishes no separate dimension for this position, so the part number carries the identity. Rate is chosen for rider weight and load, not for the machine alone. Öhlins publishes sag targets, and those are the reference for choosing a rate. Öhlins measures each spring after setting rather than relying on the winding specification.

Original Öhlins Part

Öhlins manufactures service parts on the same lines as production parts — there is no second quality. The alternative to a service part is usually a new damper, which is why this catalogue exists. Service parts are supplied per piece unless the description says otherwise. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue.

Getting the Number Right

The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 15429-02 in this case. Öhlins does not publish a dimension here — go by the number and the exploded view. Öhlins publishes sag targets, and those are the reference for choosing a rate. Öhlins winds, heat-sets and measures each spring, so the rate on the label is the rate fitted.

Fitting and Setup Service

If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 15429-02

Category: Springs

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/15429-02_067c2b29-7543-42fc-9392-674e6f9478f9.png?v=1788878777
