What It Is
03314-20 is the 0.75 mm, 92 mm version — Öhlins lists each size separately. The damper shaft carries the piston and passes through the seal head, so its surface finish decides how long the seals last. Öhlins offers shafts in several lengths per diameter because the stroke differs by model. Surface hardness is what lets the shaft survive thousands of cycles through a seal.
Genuine Service Part
An original part keeps the unit within its published specification; a near-equivalent quietly moves it. Öhlins supports units that are decades old, which is why the spare parts list runs to thousands of numbers. Service parts are supplied per piece unless the description says otherwise. Öhlins numbers do not follow a logic you can guess — always read them from the documentation.
Getting the Number Right
Order under 03314-20. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. Check diameter 0.75 mm, length 92 mm against what you have removed; a close size is not the same part. A shaft is measured by diameter and overall length, and both are specific to the unit it belongs to. The damper shaft carries the piston and passes through the seal head, so its surface finish decides how long the seals last.
Fitting and Setup Service
If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.
