Where the Specification Runs Out
Semi-active Öhlins, forged wheels, carbon panels, integrated winglets, Brembo Stylema calipers. What remains standard on a Factory is a very short list, and the switchgear is on it.
Stylema, Not Merely Brembo
The Factory carries Brembo's lighter monobloc caliper with revised cooling. It is a component chosen for a bike expected to see repeated hard braking rather than occasional use.
Aligned Holes
Both mounting holes on a single axis, matching one of the two clamp arrangements in use. The offset version covers the other, and a photograph will not reliably tell them apart.
Damping That Reads the Road
The semi-active Öhlins adjust continuously from the six-axis platform. On a superbike the weight transfers faster than any fixed setting can follow, and the difference shows most at turn-in.
Black Anodised
One finish, converted into the aluminium. Against carbon and gold, black is the option that lets both of them alone rather than adding a third material to the conversation.
Sealed Elements
Enclosed inside the machined body. On a bike washed hot after every track outing, ingress rather than wear is what actually decides how long the switchgear lasts.
Machined for Feel
Defined edges and consistent travel, from a body cut rather than moulded. Through a full glove that is the only information a rider gets about whether an input registered.
Straight Onto the Loom
Pre-wired to Aprilia's connector, so the exchange is mechanical and reversible. Nothing is left behind in the diagnostics.
Six Modes, Three of Them for Circuits
The current RSV4 separates its road and track configurations completely, each with its own traction, wheelie, engine braking and damping values. Managing that is now a substantial part of what the handlebar controls exist to do, and it is a workload the original moulded blocks were never designed around.
