DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 005 blanks the secondary air ports on the Panigale 1299 using Ducati's own fastener positions, with nothing drilled and no thread in the head disturbed.
Key Features
- Ducati Panigale 1299 (2015–2018)
- Blanks the secondary air ports in the cylinder head
- Machined from solid aluminium
- O-ring sealed, no jointing compound
- Original fastener positions
- Standard housing refits at any time
The Last Twin Superbike
Ducati moved to the V4 in 2018, which makes the 1299 the final development of the twin-cylinder Panigale and increasingly collectible for that reason.
Original Fastener Positions
Ducati's own bolt spacing and torque figures. Nothing is drilled and no thread in the head is cut or disturbed by the exchange.
Nothing Consumed
No gasket is destroyed and no fastener stretched. Everything removed goes back exactly as it came off whenever it needs to.
Aluminium Against Aluminium
The cover seals on an O-ring rather than metal to metal, which allows repeated removal without damaging the head face. It is the correct answer.
Access and Sequence
The tank comes off and frequently the airbox as well, which is why this belongs in the same session as the electrical half or any other work under there.
Where the Airbox Sits
On the V4 it is under the tank and above the engine, which makes reaching anything below it a matter of patience rather than difficulty.
The Hose Port at the Airbox
Removing the housing leaves the intake end of the hose open, and closing it is not optional. Unfiltered air entering an engine is a considerably worse outcome than the emissions system ever was, and it is the single most common thing left undone in an otherwise careful job.
The Hose Route to the Airbox
It runs from the head up and forward into the airbox, usually clipped at two or three points along the way. Following it before anything is undone shows exactly where the intake end terminates, which is the fitting that has to be closed once the housing is gone.
