Water in a silencer does two things, and neither is good: it soaks the packing, and it sits in the low point of the system rusting whatever is not stainless. A wash plug costs about the price of a coffee and stops both.

The range covers almost everything
22 to 55 millimetres of outlet inner diameter takes in essentially every road and race silencer Akrapovic builds, and most of what everyone else builds too. Measure across the inside of the outlet rather than the outside of the tube — that is the dimension the plug seals against.
Remove it before starting the engine
Obvious, and worth saying anyway, because it is the one mistake this part invites. A plugged exhaust with the engine running has nowhere to send the gas. Akrapovic makes the plug in a colour that is hard to miss for exactly that reason.
Measuring your outlet
Hold a caliper across the inside of the tailpipe at its very end. A twin-outlet silencer needs two plugs; a system with a tapered outlet should be measured at the narrowest point the plug will reach.
