DescriptionThe whole story▼
On a rutted, rocky motocross track, the rear disc of a Husqvarna FC 450 sits in the firing line. Stones flicked up by the front wheel or thrown back by the bike ahead can strike it, and deep ruts can press it against hard edges. Accossato's DK018 is a fixed rear disc for the FC 450 from 2014 to 2024. It is one piece, of steel by the maker's description, 220 mm across and 4 mm thick, and interchangeable with the original equipment disc.
Key Features
- Fixed rear disc for the Husqvarna FC 450, 2014 to 2024
- One-piece steel design from the off-road range
- 220 mm outer diameter, 110 mm inner diameter
- 4 mm thick
- Direct replacement for the original disc
- Minimum thickness printed on the disc
- No German ABE documented; competition use
Construction and Material Quality
The DK018 is formed from a single piece of steel, with a 110 mm centre bore and a thickness of 4 mm. Because it has no separate carrier, there are no rivets to loosen or collect dirt. Accossato states that the disc is interchangeable with the one fitted at the factory, and it credits its design work and choice of materials to racing experience in Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3.
When the Rear Disc Takes a Knock
A bent rear disc makes itself known in several ways: a rhythmic scraping when you push the bike, a pedal that pulses under your boot, or a rear hub that is warm after a ride even though you hardly used the brake. The last sign matters most, because a dragging rear brake heats the disc, the pads and the fluid, and it robs the FC 450 of drive out of corners. To check, raise the rear wheel, turn it by hand and watch the outer edge of the disc where it passes through the caliper. A wobble means the disc should be replaced; straightening is not a safe repair. Look at the disc guard too, if one is fitted, since a bent guard can rub against the disc. The same impact often damages other parts, so inspect the rear rim, the spokes and the wheel bearings before the wheel goes back in.
Fitment and Compatibility
The DK018 appears in Accossato's list for the Husqvarna FC 450 with the years 2014 to 2024. Its partner at the front of the FC 450 is the DK017, listed from 2014 to 2021. There is one rear disc on the bike, and a single DK018 renews it.
Road Approval
No German ABE is on record for the DK018, and there is no type approval. It is supplied for racing and closed off-road terrain.
Scope of Delivery
One DK018 rear disc made of steel in one piece. Pads and bolts are not supplied.
