DescriptionThe whole story▼
A 125cc two-stroke rewards the rider who keeps it rolling. On the Beta RR 125 two-stroke, every unnecessary squeeze of the front brake throws away speed that the small engine then has to claw back, so quick riders brake late, briefly and lightly, and let the bike flow through the turn on its own momentum. Accossato's B8206 is a folding replacement for the stock front brake lever of the RR 125 two-stroke built from 2018 to 2022. It is cut from solid Ergal 7075 in Italy, sized for three fingers, and hinged so that its blade can swing forward when the bike goes down.
Key Features
- Folding front brake lever for the Beta RR 125 two-stroke, model years 2018 to 2022
- Mounts on the original front brake master cylinder in place of the standard lever
- Hinged blade that can tip forward in a crash instead of snapping off
- Shorter brake blade, laid out by Accossato for three fingers
- CNC-machined in Italy from a solid billet of Ergal 7075
- Dark base; blade in black, blue, gold or red
- No German ABE on record, for off-road and competition riding
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato neither casts nor forges this lever. It starts with a solid billet of Ergal 7075, one of the strongest aluminium alloys in common use, and lets CNC machines in Italy cut away everything that is not needed. The company's own brief for the part is short: strong, light, dependable. The finished B8206 comes in two sections. A dark base sits on the pivot at the master cylinder, and the blade, finished in the colour you pick, hangs from it on the joint that allows it to fold. As a brake lever it is the shorter of Accossato's two off-road patterns, with room for three fingers.
Carrying Speed Instead of Scrubbing It
Riders who come to a 125 from a bigger four-stroke usually discover that the small two-stroke punishes habits the larger bike forgave. There is little engine braking to slow you into a corner and not much low-down pull to fire you out of it, so the craft lies in arriving at the right speed and keeping the revs alive on the exit. The front brake becomes an instrument of small corrections: a brief squeeze to settle the fork before a bend, released well before the apex, where the RR 125 should already be carving round on the speed it carried in.
Chasing that flow means now and then asking the front tyre for more grip than the ground can give. On dusty hard-pack or the lip of a greasy berm the front washes out, and a bike that falls to its right lands on the brake lever first. That is the situation the hinge on the B8206 is built around: rather than taking the whole blow at its tip, the blade has the option of folding forward out of the way. With luck, that means lifting the Beta RR 125 two-stroke, glancing at the lever and carrying on. It will not happen after every crash, but the odds are better than with a lever that has no way to give.
Fitment and Compatibility
This lever is listed by Accossato for the Beta RR 125 two-stroke from 2018 to 2022, five model years in all, and fits where the stock brake lever sat. For the same bike and period there is also a folding clutch lever, the C7283, sold separately. Black, blue and red are made for both; gold exists only on the brake side and orange only on the clutch, so a matched pair means picking one of the three shared colours.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE for the B8206. An RR 125 two-stroke may well be registered, but with this lever fitted it is not approved for public roads. It is meant for off-road riding and competition.
