Almost every surviving 125 Duke has been improved in small instalments — levers, a tail tidy, a slip-on somebody promised was legal. What keeps that list short is that on an A1 machine the output is fixed by a licence category, so a great deal of the catalogue is either decoration or a conversation with a testing station. The Sprint Filter P08 belongs to the small remainder that is neither. It lives inside the standard airbox, leaves the bike looking and sounding as it did when it left the factory, and turns a part you are expected to keep buying into one you keep cleaning.
Key Features
- One layer of woven polyester, worked dry: 5,050 l/m²/sec at 80 µm
- Never oiled, so there is no dose to judge and nothing able to travel downstream
- Occupies the standard airbox where the paper panel used to sit; original fixings, no remap
- Roughly twice the filtering area of a typical performance element
- Holds back 93.13 % of particles at 100 microns; four-layer oiled cotton reaches 76.42 %
- Cleaned and refitted for as long as the bike lasts, with two years of warranty from purchase
What the licence class fixes, and what it does not
The ceiling on this machine is written into a licence category, not into its intake tract, and no element that fits inside a standard airbox is going to argue with that. Nobody should sell you this as a power part, and this page will not. What the rules do not fix is how evenly the engine is fed after four winters. A paper panel arrives at its most permeable and is retired at its most obstructive, and it crosses the distance between the two without ever mentioning it. The P08 has a condition you can put it back to whenever you feel like opening the box.
The short list, honestly kept
Most intake products sold for small singles work by deleting the airbox. That changes intake noise, changes what the machine was homologated as, and hands the fuelling a problem nobody asked it to solve. Swapping the element does none of those things: the box, the snorkel and the internal volumes stay exactly where KTM put them, and only the medium inside changes — from cellulose that gets thrown away to polyester woven from threads of about 22 micrometres upwards that gets washed and used again.
Care and cleaning
An air line held to the clean side and worked across the whole face sends the dirt back out through the surface it came in by. Anything that resists dry cleaning gives up to tepid water and a small amount of mild detergent; keep rinsing while material is still coming away. After that it wants air and time and nothing else — no heater, no flame, and it does not go back into the box until it is dry right through. The maintenance sheet for the PM145S is filed in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
This is the P08 for the KTM 125 Duke, model years 2011 to 2016 — the first generation, before the 2017 redesign changed the airbox. Sprint Filter lists this one part against nine machines in KTM's small-capacity range, so order by element code and year rather than by model name alone.
