DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Öhlins FKR 215 exists because the Ducati Panigale 959 (2016–2019) needed its own settings, not a shared set. Standard cartridges are often damped in one direction and barely in the other.
Key Features
- Listed by Öhlins for the Ducati Panigale 959 (2016–2019) and no other machine
- Supplied with Öhlins spring See notes
- Stroke: 120 mm
Fitted to the Panigale 959
The 2016–2019 generation kept the same chassis dimensions throughout, so one Öhlins number serves the whole run. Supersport chassis are stiff and short, which leaves the suspension doing almost all the compliance work. A 959 cc machine of this type sits in a specific weight band, and Öhlins picks the spring rate for that band rather than for the platform.
The FKR 200 in Detail
Adjustment is by click at the fork tops, in both directions independently. The standard fork legs, yokes and axle clamps all stay on the motorcycle. The FKR 200 series is the later generation of Öhlins' TTX 25 cartridge kit, built for forks that the FKR 100 series does not cover.
Materials and Manufacture
Service parts stay available for years after a part number leaves the current price list. Materials read unremarkably on paper — aluminium, steel, nitrogen — and the difference lies in how precisely they are made. The cartridges are supplied as a matched pair, tested together before packing.
Damping and Adjustment
Öhlins quotes 120 mm of damper stroke for this fitment. Spring part number See notes is a separate catalogue item, so a rate change is inexpensive. Fill specification is 01309, which is part of the setting rather than a detail. Compression and rebound become separately adjustable, which on most standard forks they were not. Each fork leg takes one function, so each adjuster has a single, clear effect.
Fitment and Compatibility
The fitment stated here is the Ducati Panigale 959 in its 2016–2019 form, under Öhlins part number FKR 215. The number is shared with 5 sibling models that use the same mounting and settings, and this listing covers the Ducati Panigale 959. Öhlins notes for this application: Comes with 3 different spring rates: 9.5 ,10 & 10.5N/mm *Replaces FKR 115*
Road Approval
Road approval: none for Germany. Öhlins supplies this part without a German type approval for the Ducati Panigale 959, which means it is not covered for use on public roads under StVZO. Track and closed-course use only.
Important Notes
- Fits models with the original Showa fork only.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins components deliver what they promise once they are fitted and set up properly. As an authorised Öhlins service centre we do exactly that in house — installation, service and setup. Simply ask if you would like us to take care of it.
