DescriptionThe whole story▼
Cylinder tube 46/437, Öhlins part number 01110-21. Surface finish is specified in microns, because it decides how quickly the piston band wears.
Key Features
- Öhlins part number 01110-21
- Length 437 mm
- Original Öhlins service part
- Diameter 46 mm
Where It Sits
At 46 mm, 437 mm it fits one position only; the next size up carries a different number. Length here is the working length, not the overall dimension, which is why two similar tubes are not interchangeable. Tubes are replaced when the bore is marked; polishing them out changes the clearance and makes it worse. The tube is what the whole damper is built around: everything else references its bore.
Original Öhlins Part
Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. Suspension is one of the few areas where the original part is genuinely the cheaper decision. If the unit is already apart, compare the published dimensions with the part in your hand. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise.
Getting the Number Right
01110-21 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. diameter 46 mm, length 437 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. Öhlins turns and hones each tube to a defined roundness, because an out-of-round bore leaks past the piston. Öhlins gives the tube its diameter and its working length as a pair — a tube of the same bore but different length belongs to a different unit.
Fitting and Setup Service
A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.
