DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 002 takes the charcoal canister, its purge valve and the hoses between them off the Scrambler 1100, and answers the circuit that would otherwise report the loss.
Key Features
- Ducati Scrambler 1100 (2018–2023)
- Removes the charcoal canister, its valve and its hoses
- Vents the fuel tank through a proper fitting
- Answers the purge valve circuit
- Frees the space the canister occupied
- Standard parts refit at any time
Eleven Hundred and Seventy-Nine Cubic Centimetres
The largest air-cooled twin Ducati has built, making eighty-six horsepower with an enormous spread of torque.
The Tank Still Breathes
Fuel drawn out has to be replaced by air coming in, so the kit supplies a proper vent fitting rather than leaving a hose to find its own way.
Type Approval
Evaporative control belongs to the approval in the markets that mandate it, and removing it there moves the motorcycle into competition use.
What the Vent Has to Do
Admit air as fuel is used and hold petrol back when the motorcycle goes over. A cut hose does the first and fails at the second.
A System Most Owners Never Think About
Evaporative control runs without rider involvement, produces no indication that it exists and is never mentioned at handover. The first anybody hears of it is a starting problem.
The Bracket Bolts Are Not Tight
Nothing in this assembly is torqued to anything significant, which is fortunate because the fasteners are usually corroded by the time anybody reaches them.
Keep the Purge Valve
It refits with the vessel and it is the part a dealer will look for. Storing it with the rest costs nothing at all.
What Comes Off the Motorcycle
The canister itself, the purge valve, three or four hoses depending on the model, and the brackets holding all of it. It is more than most owners expect and the space it leaves behind is the main reason the job gets done at all.
The Purge Valve Is the Electrical Half
It is a small solenoid the controller opens once the engine is warm, and it is the part that stores a fault when the hardware disappears. Understanding that it is separate from the canister itself explains why the kit contains a connector as well as a set of plugs.
