DescriptionThe whole story▼

- EC and ECE type approved
Carbon or Titanium — the Choice on This Bike
Akrapovic builds two silencers for these motorcycles and the difference is real. This carbon version weighs 1.99 kg, a 53.5 per cent saving, and gains 1.1 PS. The titanium version, S-S7SO3-HRT, weighs 2.87 kg — a 34.6 per cent saving — but gains 2.4 PS and has a tougher coated surface.
Carbon for the lightest possible tail, titanium for the larger power gain and the ability to shrug off a winter. On a bike ridden year-round the titanium is usually the better answer; on one kept for dry weather, this is.
Even the Bracket Is Carbon
Most silencers hang on a steel bracket nobody looks at. Here the sleeve, the end cap and the bracket are all hand-laid carbon, with stainless steel kept for the inner structure and link pipe where the gas is hottest.
That split is what makes 53.5 per cent possible on a part that still has to survive road use, and it is why the hexagonal shape carries through the whole body rather than being a cap glued to a round tube.
Two Very Different Motorcycles
The SV650X is the café-racer version of Suzuki's long-running V-twin — clip-ons, a bikini fairing, a tucked seat. The SV-7GX is new for 2026 and takes the same engine in the opposite direction: upright, adventure-styled, with a tall screen. Same engine, same frame, same exhaust mounting, so one silencer serves both.
One Thing to Know
No removable noise insert is supplied with this carbon version. The sound level is what the silencer produces as built — type approved at that level, so entirely legal, but there is no quieter setting to fit. The titanium version does include an insert, which is a further point of difference between the two.
Fitment and Compatibility
S-S6SO10-HRC covers the Suzuki SV650X from model year 2018 through 2026 and the SV-7GX from 2026. No removable noise insert is supplied with this version.
Road Approval
EC type approval and ECE type approval, with the certificates supplied and downloadable here. The silencer is a legal replacement part for road use in the European Union.
