DescriptionThe whole story▼

Accossato also offers its rear pad AGPA92 for the Triumph Thunderbird Storm in the ZXC ceramic racing compound, listed for 2011 to 2018. AGPA92ZXC is intended for a Storm used in racing, where the rear brake is part of the setup that riders and mechanics refine over a weekend. It is not designed for the road; on public roads, the Organic or Sintered versions of this pad are the right choice.

  • No test papers; for racing only

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato describes ZXC as a ceramic compound ideal for racing. It is designed for competition, where the rear brake is used repeatedly under high load. The maker's general design aims include limited heat build-up to resist fading and stable, even wear over an event.

Refining the Setup

Over a race weekend, riders and mechanics adjust many details: tyre pressures, suspension, gearing and brakes. The choice of rear pad compound is part of that work. With a ceramic racing compound fitted to the Storm, keep notes on how the rear brake behaves in each session and how it affects corner entry. Use that information to decide whether to keep the setup or change it for the next event. The goal is a rear brake that behaves predictably so that the rider can concentrate on lines and braking points.

Work in the Pit Box

Between sessions, check pad thickness and disc condition, clean the pistons before pushing them back and make sure the caliper moves freely. Pump the pedal before leaving the pit lane.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato names AGPA92 as the rear pad for the Thunderbird Storm from 2011 to 2018 and AGPA58 for its front brake. The box holds two pads for the single rear caliper. Since ceramic racing pads are a setup item, it is worth keeping a second box ready so that a worn set can be swapped quickly between sessions.

Road Approval

There is no ABE and no test certificate for AGPA92ZXC. It is intended for racing and competition.

Scope of Delivery

Two ZXC ceramic racing rear pads for one caliper.
