DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Yamaha YZ125X is the cross-country version of Yamaha's 125 two-stroke, set up for long loops through woods and fields rather than for short motocross motos. Accossato lists its AGPA288 front pad for the YZ125X from 2022 to 2025, and this is the Sintered version, SKU AGPA288ST. It is meant for riders who spend long days on mixed terrain, with dry fire roads, wet meadows and shaded forest sections in one loop, and want a front brake that behaves the same way from start to finish.

Key Features

  • Sintered (ST) front pad, SKU AGPA288ST
  • Yamaha YZ125X, 2022 to 2025
  • Accossato: grip stays high and constant at any temperature
  • Accossato: reliable bite when wet
  • For long cross-country loops on mixed ground
  • Two pads per box for the front caliper
  • Discs DK168, DK268 and DK269 listed for this bike

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato says the Sintered compound offers a high level of grip that stays constant whether the brake is cold or hot, and that it grips well in wet conditions. That fits a YZ125X ridden for hours across changing terrain. Accossato also mentions slow wear and limited fade; we note it once and leave the composition aside.

Long Loops Through Woods and Fields

A cross-country loop can last for hours. The first section may be a dry, fast track across a field; the next, a wet, rooty path under trees; then a stream crossing and a gravel climb. The front brake of the YZ125X gets wet, dries, heats and cools again and again. A Sintered pad is picked so that the lever does not surprise the rider after each change. It suits riders who value consistency over a long day, whether they are training or simply exploring. For deep mud, sand and race conditions, Accossato also offers the STMX version of this pad. Riders new to cross-country often underestimate how tiring a long loop is, and a brake that does not need constant readjustment saves some of that energy for the last hour.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's catalogue ties AGPA288 to the Yamaha YZ125X for the 2022 to 2025 model years, listed as YZ 125 X. The bike has a single front disc, so one box fits the one caliper. No rear Accossato pad is listed in the sheet for the YZ125X, but the discs DK168, DK268 and DK269 are. Before a long loop on new pads, clean dust and old grease from the caliper, push the pistons back gently, then squeeze the lever until the travel is short and the brake is firm again.

Road Approval

Accossato has not supplied us with an ABE or test certificate for this pad, so it is offered for racing and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

Two Sintered pads for the single front caliper, in one box.
