DescriptionThe whole story▼
A small cruiser is often the bike that has no garage. The GV125 Aquila gets bought as a first machine by a rider who lives in a flat, spends its life under a cover in a car park or beside a house, and is ridden all year because it is also the way to work. Everything on it therefore ages faster than it would on a bike kept indoors, and the pivots of the controls age fastest of all. Accossato lists the AGD49 for the GV125 Aquila of 2005 to 2015, a silver front brake lever in the original form.

Construction and Material Quality
What Accossato offers here is a straight replacement. The AGD49 follows the shape of the brake lever the GV125 Aquila was delivered with, so the front of the bike keeps its standard appearance and the hand meets the same blade in the same place as before. The range was developed to make an ordinary repair an ordinary expense, and the manufacturer states that the process used to produce these levers leaves them more resistant after damage or a fall. Silver is the colour listed for this code. No weight, material or measurement is published by Accossato, so this description stays quiet on all three.
No Garage, All Weather
A bike that lives outside needs a slightly different routine, and it is not a complicated one. Water is the obvious enemy, but the real damage comes from what water carries: road salt in winter, grit thrown up from the kerb, dust in summer. All of it finds its way into the pivot of a brake lever, where it mixes with whatever grease is left and turns into a grinding paste. Twice a year, take the lever off the GV125 Aquila, wipe the bolt and the bore clean, look at whether the hole has worn out of round, and put fresh grease back before reassembling. Do not tighten the bolt so hard that the movement becomes stiff; the lever should swing freely and return to its stop the moment the fingers let go. While you are there, look at the blade itself. A cruiser spends its life being manoeuvred at walking pace in car parks, which is where most of them get knocked over, and a lever bent even slightly changes how far the hand travels before the brake bites. That matters on a bike ridden in traffic by a newer rider. Replace anything twisted rather than bending it back, and check that the brake light comes on early in the travel once the new lever is on.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGD49 for the GV125 Aquila across 2005 to 2015 as the only original-type brake lever for this model, and offers no second code and no CNC lever for it, so there is nothing to weigh up. The same lever is catalogued with us for the Suzuki RV125 VanVan, which is worth knowing if a household runs both. On the clutch side Accossato lists no original-type lever for the GV125 Aquila. As always, hold the product photograph against the lever on your own bike before ordering, especially on a machine that has changed hands a few times.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE and no test mark for the AGD49 in our hands, since Accossato supplied no approval paperwork. The lever is listed for racing and competition.
