DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Accossato MP001 is a standard rear brake master cylinder designed to work from the footbrake pedal rather than a thumb or hand lever, built around a 10.5 mm piston and made entirely in Italy. It is aimed at smaller machines, where a 10.5 mm bore is enough to move the fluid volume needed for a single rear calliper, and is listed by Accossato as compatible with the YCF pitbike range, including the BigY, Factory, GP, Lite, Pilot, S and SM models from 2024 to 2026. CNC-machined aluminium construction keeps the unit light without sacrificing the stiffness a pedal-operated circuit needs.
Key Features
- 10.5 mm piston diameter for smaller rear brake circuits
- Actuated from the standard footbrake pedal, not a thumb or hand lever
- CNC-worked aluminium body with a black hard oxidation finish
- 8 mm brake hose fitting with a 40 to 50 mm hose-fixing distance
- Made entirely in Italy to Accossato's own tolerances
- Listed for the YCF BigY, Factory, GP, Lite, Pilot, S and SM pitbikes (2024-2026)
- Not recommended for use together with a thumb brake master cylinder on one circuit
Construction and Material Quality
The body is CNC-worked from aluminium and finished with a hard surface oxidation treatment in black, giving the MP001 the same resistance to scuffing and brake fluid contact as the rest of Accossato's rear brake range. The distance between the two fixing points for the brake hoses is set at 40 to 50 mm, a dimension installers need when checking the unit against an existing mount or sourcing new lines, and the brake hose fitting itself is 8 mm, matched to the 10.5 mm piston. Internally the bore and seals are built to the same tolerances Accossato applies across its thumb and hand-operated master cylinders, so pedal feel stays consistent and repeatable over time.
Pedal-Operated Braking and Compatibility with Other Accossato Cylinders
Because the MP001 is actuated through the standard footbrake pedal rather than a thumb lever or hand lever, it works as a direct like-for-like replacement for the OEM rear master cylinder on the machines it fits, rather than as an add-on control. Accossato does not recommend mounting the MP001 together with a thumb brake master cylinder from the BP001 to BP012 range on the same hydraulic circuit; a rider who wants both a working foot pedal and a separate thumb or hand control needs the double-ended master cylinder, code MP005, which is built specifically to combine the two. On its own, the MP001 is intended purely as the pedal-brake master cylinder for the vehicles it is listed against.
Fitment and Compatibility
This master cylinder is listed against 7 motorcycles in our fitment data, all from the YCF pitbike range: the BigY, Factory, GP, Lite, Pilot, S and SM, each covering the 2024 to 2026 model years. The full list, with exact model years, is published in the Fitment tab on this page; please check it against your own machine before ordering, and confirm the 40 to 50 mm hose-fixing distance and 8 mm hose fitting match your existing rear brake lines if you are replacing an OEM unit.
Road Approval
This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for off-road, competition and adaptive hand-control use.
Scope of Delivery
The package includes the Accossato MP001 rear brake master cylinder in black CNC-worked aluminium, sized for a 10.5 mm piston and an 8 mm brake hose fitting. The fluid reservoir and brake hose are not included and must be sourced separately.
