DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Yamaha FJR1300A has a long reputation as a sport tourer that racks up huge distances, and a lot of those distances are covered solo, on the way to work or on business trips. Accossato's AGPA21 front pad in the Organic (OR) compound is aimed at that kind of use. Accossato says it provides long-lasting performance and limits disc wear. The listing covers the FJR 1300 A from 2013 to 2020, and it suits owners who want a quiet, progressive front brake for high-mileage everyday riding.

Key Features

  • AGPA21 front pad, Accossato Organic (OR) compound
  • For the Yamaha FJR1300A, 2013-2020
  • Accossato: long-lasting performance and gentle on the discs
  • Suited to high-mileage solo riding and commuting
  • Progressive initial bite when cold
  • Box contains two pads for one front caliper
  • Also offered as ST and EV1

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato designed its organic mix to go the distance while removing as little material from the disc as possible. For a bike that may cover tens of thousands of miles over its life, disc wear is a real running cost, and this compound addresses it directly. It also carries Accossato's general claims: slow wear, limited heat build-up to reduce fade and strong braking when needed.

Mileage Without Drama

Many FJR1300A owners measure their riding in years and in serious distances rather than in lap times. The bike is ridden to meetings, on long motorway stretches and through towns at both ends. Most of those stops are moderate, and the first ones of the day are made with cold pads. An organic compound bites progressively in that situation and tends to stay quiet, which suits the refined character of the FJR. Its gentle treatment of the discs also pays off over high mileage. For two-up touring in the Alps or in all weather, look at the ST version instead; for a quicker pace, EV1.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPA21 for the front of the FJR 1300 A from 2013 to 2020, and AGPP121 for the rear. The FJR has two front calipers, so two boxes are needed to change both sides. Swap both at once, clean the pistons before pressing them back, keep the discs clean and check the fluid. Pump the lever until firm, then bed the pads in with a series of gentle stops.

Road Approval

We have no ABE or German test documents for AGPA21OR. It is offered for racing and competition.
