DescriptionThe whole story▼

Coastal riders know the problem: beach car parks, sandy lay-bys and wind-blown grit on seaside roads. On a Triumph Street Triple 765 R LOW that regularly stops at such places, the rear caliper collects sand quickly. Accossato's list for the LOW includes the AGPP91 rear pad in the Off-road sintered compound, labelled STMX, for 2017 to 2023. It is the firm's material for off-road riders and a niche option on this bike, relevant only where sand and dust are routine.

Key Features

  • Rear brake pads for the Triumph Street Triple 765 R LOW, 2017 to 2023
  • AGPP91 shape with STMX friction material (AGPP91STMX)
  • Accossato's compound for riders who leave tarmac
  • Relevant for sandy car parks and gritty coastal roads
  • One box covers the rear caliper
  • OR and ST are the road-oriented versions
  • Competition use; no German ABE

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato describes STMX simply as its compound for off-road riders. The AGPP91 outline is used on several machines, so the dirt-oriented version appears in the list for the LOW as well. The maker, which took the Enduro world title in 1985, lists slow wear, resistance to fade and good stopping power as goals for its pads in general.

Sand, Salt and a Rear Caliper

Fine sand behaves like grinding paste once it reaches the gap between pad and disc, and salty sea air speeds up corrosion around the piston. Riders who park by the beach every weekend often see faster rear disc wear and a gritty pedal. A compound designed for dirty conditions is meant for that environment, though it is no substitute for cleaning. Rinse the rear wheel area with fresh water after coastal rides and let it dry before storing the bike.

Choosing Honestly

For a LOW that sticks to clean tarmac, the OR or ST versions of this plate are the more natural choice. STMX makes sense only if sand, dust or mud regularly reach the rear brake. Whichever you fit, clean the piston before pressing it back, check the dust seal, and pump the pedal until firm before riding.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the AGPP91 at the rear of the Street Triple 765 R LOW for the years 2017 to 2023, and a single box fits the one rear caliper. At the front the same bikes take the AGPA177. No Accossato disc is shown for the LOW on our sheet.

Road Approval

No German ABE or test report for STMX is in our hands, so it is offered for competition use only.

Scope of Delivery

One set of two AGPP91 rear pads in STMX compound.
