DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Ducati SuperSport 950 S is a sports bike meant for real distances, with a full fairing, a riding position that suits long days and Ducati's Testastretta twin. The S adds fully adjustable suspension of a higher specification and a quick shifter that works up and down the gearbox, and that suspension is a good reason to spend a day on a circuit finding out what the settings actually do. The quick-release cap on this page, Accossato's FC104, is listed for the SuperSport 950 S of 2024 and machined from aluminium throughout.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Ducati SuperSport 950 S, model year 2024
- Body machined entirely from aluminium on CNC equipment
- Quick-closing pawl: the filler opens and closes in moments
- Pin colour of your choice: blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
- Pawl available as an individual spare if it is damaged
- New design, described by Accossato as robust and durable
- Fit to be confirmed against Accossato's application list
- No German ABE documented; intended for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato, based in Villastellone near Turin, mills the FC104 from aluminium on CNC machines, with the whole body in that one material, and says the result is tough and long-lasting. The company describes the design as new. The closure is a quick-closing pawl, so opening the tank of the SuperSport 950 S and shutting it again takes only moments. That pawl carries the pin, which you pick from six colours when ordering, and should it ever be damaged, Accossato sells a replacement pawl on its own.
Fuel Load and Suspension Settings
Adjustable suspension only pays off when the settings are made under repeatable conditions, and the contents of the tank are part of those conditions. Fuel has weight, and a SuperSport 950 S with a brim-full tank sits differently on its springs from the same bike running close to reserve. Riders who measure sag at the circuit therefore follow a simple rule: measure at the same fuel level every time, for example straight after the morning top-up, and write that level down next to the clicker settings and tyre pressures. Changes made later in the day are then judged against a known baseline rather than against a bike that has been getting lighter lap by lap. The quick-release cap helps here, because a look into the filler takes seconds. Do all of this with the engine off and the bike upright on its stands, close the cap before you start turning adjusters, and wipe up any drips before they can reach the tyres.
Fitment and Compatibility
Only one model year of the SuperSport 950 S appears for the FC104 on Accossato's application list, 2024, and that is the year this product covers. If your S was built in another year, check the list again or ask us before you order. Our shop also carries the same cap for the standard SuperSport 950, the Monster 1200 and the Monster 821. Fit it with the engine cold, make sure the seal sits evenly, and look for dampness around the rim after the first fill.
Road Approval
The FC104 has no German ABE and no parts certificate on record, so we sell it for track use. The SuperSport's original cap normally opens with the ignition key, and for public roads it should go back on.
