DescriptionThe whole story▼

On a country road, an overtake on the Tiger Sport 1050 begins well before you pull out. You check the road ahead, pick the gap and drop a gear so that the triple is ready to pull. That downshift happens while your eyes are busy elsewhere, which is why the clutch lever should need no searching. The Accossato EST333P is a machined aluminium clutch lever for the Tiger Sport 1050 of 2017 to 2020. It fits the original clutch mounting, and its reach can be brought in so that a quick pull needs no change of grip.

Key Features

  • Clutch lever for the Tiger Sport 1050, 2017 to 2020
  • Mounts at the original clutch mounting
  • Adjustable span between blade and grip
  • Short blade for two-finger use, standard of about 138 mm, long for more leverage
  • Machined from aluminium and anodised
  • Black hub, blade colour chosen from seven
  • Rigid, no folding joint
  • Offered for track use: no German ABE documented

Construction and Material Quality

Machined out of a solid aluminium billet and anodised afterwards, the EST333P is black at the hub and coloured along the blade. Quick gear changes put short, sharp loads through a clutch lever, and a machined blade without a joint takes them without flexing or developing play at a hinge. The adjuster sits next to the pivot inside the black hub, where your fingers cannot knock it in the middle of a change. As the anodised surface is part of the metal, it keeps its colour under the constant light rubbing of a riding glove.

Dropping a Gear to Overtake

A good overtake is mostly preparation. By the time the road ahead is clear, you want to be in the gear that gives the strongest pull, and on a Tiger Sport 1050 that often means one or two gears lower than the one you were cruising in. The downshift should be quick and tidy: lever in, gear selected, clutch let out smoothly so the bike does not pitch forward just as you are about to accelerate. With the blade within easy reach, two fingers can do this without the rest of the hand letting go of the grip, and your attention stays on the oncoming traffic rather than on your left hand. The short blade suits riders who like to change gear with two fingers, the standard blade feels closest to the original, and the long one lightens the pull. Whichever you choose, set the reach in your normal riding position, not standing beside the bike.

Fitment and Compatibility

This clutch lever is listed by Accossato for the Tiger Sport 1050 of 2017 to 2020, with the versions Tiger 1050 and Tiger 1050 Sport for those years; older bikes are not covered by it. The EDF014 brake lever fits the same bikes and, according to Accossato, also the Tiger 1050 of 2007 and 2008. Black and red are made in the standard length only, and silver comes standard or short.

Road Approval

For the EST333P no German ABE is documented. It is sold as a track part.
