Same silencer, same approval, same money — the only thing that changes is the colour of it. Spark prices the dark version of the Dakar slip-on at 649 euro, exactly what the titanium article costs, which turns the choice between them into a question of taste rather than budget.
Key Features
- Euro5+ homologated slip-on for the Yamaha Ténéré 700 and Ténéré 700 World Raid.
- Dark-style finish, Dakar design.
- Spark gives 2,3 kg for this slip-on against 4,8 kg for the standard part.
- Standard lateral routing — the high-mounted version is GYA1602.
- Compatible with the centre stand and with side bags.
- Same 649 euro as the titanium article GYA1601TOM.
Dark Style Is a Treatment, Not Paint
Spark's dark style is a ceramic surface treatment on stainless steel, not a coat of black lacquer over metal. It goes on before the article leaves the factory, it survives the heat cycles an exhaust lives through, and it does not lift at the weld seams the way paint eventually does.
What it looks like in daylight is a deep matte anthracite rather than a piano black. Against the Ténéré's own dark plastics it disappears into the bike, which is the point — this is the version for an owner who wants the standard silencer gone without announcing it.
Which One to Take
The two finishes are the same silencer inside, with the same connecting pipe, the same mounting and the same approval. Spark quotes 2,3 kg for the article either way.
Titanium shows its grain and goes gold-bronze at the outlet after a few hundred kilometres of heat. The dark version stays dark. Neither is quieter, neither makes more power, and neither costs more. If the bike is a working machine that gets dusty, the dark one hides it better.
What Does Not Have To Come Off
Spark lists this slip-on as compatible with the centre stand and with side bags. On the Ténéré that is worth checking against any exhaust before ordering — the standard luggage rails sit close to the silencer, and plenty of aftermarket cans on this platform mean giving up either the panniers or the stand.
The Paperwork
The Euro5+ approval was granted by the Italian Ministry of Transport after noise and bench measurements. It covers this article as supplied, with no insert to fit and nothing to remove afterwards. The bench comparison behind Spark's power figures was run on a standard motorcycle without touching the ECU.
Fitment & Compatibility
Yamaha Ténéré 700 and Ténéré 700 World Raid, 2019 to 2026. The titanium version of the same article is GYA1601TOM. High-mounted routing: GYA1602DOM in dark, GYA1602TOM in titanium. The de-cat racing manifold GYA8504 can be combined with this silencer; on Euro5 machines it needs the extension cable 0CAVO003.
Road Approval
Euro5+ approved, road legal as supplied.
