DescriptionThe whole story▼
Sea light is hard on the eyes: a coast road at midday throws glare off the water, the sand and the pale tarmac all at once. The Iridium Pink finish of Shark visor VZ40045P, sold here as a product of its own under SKU VZ40045PPNKTU, puts a pink mirror between you and that brightness on a Skwal i3, Skwal Cup, D-Skwal 3 or Ridill 2.
Key Features
- Shark lists this finish as IRIDIUM PINK in the Range Book 2027
- Range Book class: approved, daytime use only
- One of four mirror colours on article VZ40045P, all at the same price
- Ready for a Max Vision Pinlock 70 lens, tension adjustable; the lens is Shark part VZ40005P

- EAN 3664836679730, weight 0.14 kg
About this tint
Pink is the least common of the four mirror colours Shark offers on this visor, and the one people remember. It works with decors in pink, purple or white, or as a deliberate contrast on a plain matt shell. Like every iridium coating, it reflects a share of the light before it reaches your eyes and hides them from onlookers.
Shark gives no figure that would set the pink apart from the red, blue or gold versions in how much light gets through, so treat the colour as a styling decision. All four cost the same.
Road or track
On page 37 of its Range Book 2027 Shark sets Iridium Pink as APPROVED DAY USE ONLY. The supplier description of VZ40045P just says Homol. and does not break the finishes down; the Range Book does, and it is the more specific source for this tint.
A sunset over the sea looks spectacular through a mirror, the dusk that follows does not. Keep the clear VZ40012P, which Shark approves for all users, in the top box for the last stretch. The light tinted TE50 version of VZ40012P is no help there, because Shark also limits it to daytime use.
Fitment
Source is Shark itself: its collection of compatible visors for the Ridill 2, D-Skwal 3 and Skwal i3 groups this part with those three helmets and the Skwal Cup. Nothing here is derived from the part number alone. If one of these four is on your shelf, VZ40045P is the Iridium visor Shark intends for it.
How it goes on
Open the fitted visor all the way and release it the way your helmet's manual shows; do not lever at the pivot with a screwdriver. Before clipping the pink one in, transfer any Pinlock insert and adjust its tension until it presses evenly against the inside. A final open and close confirms that the central grip locks as it did before.
Keeping it serviceable
Salt spray is the enemy near the sea. Rinse the visor with fresh water after a coastal ride before the residue dries into the coating, then dab it dry rather than rubbing. Insects come off after soaking under a wet cloth. Cleaning agents with solvents, or window sprays, attack the pink layer long before they harm the visor below, so skip them.
