DescriptionThe whole story▼
Early-season track days bring a particular problem: the sun hangs low all day and bounces off damp tarmac and white-painted kerbs. VZ36030PBLUTU is the Iridium Blue version of VZ36030P, Shark's long trip visor for the RS Jet, a mirrored screen aimed at that kind of circuit glare.
Key Features
- Iridium Blue mirror, colour code BLU
- Shark Range Book 2027: racing use only
- Side locking and unlocking, 4-point anchoring
- Side air inlets built into the visor
- Pinlock-ready (Max Vision, adjustable tension); insert VZ36005P
- EAN 3664836766775, 186 g
About this tint
From outside the screen gives a blue reflection that pairs naturally with blue bikes and with helmet decors carrying blue or white. Inside, the view is darker than through a clear visor, and the reflective layer knocks back part of the glare before it arrives. On the RS Jet, with the face open below, this long screen is the only thing shading your eyes.
Blue is a matter of taste. Shark does not describe it as sharper, darker or better for contrast than the gold, red, silver or rainbow versions, so none of that is claimed here.
Road or track
Shark's classification leaves no room for interpretation: Iridium Blue for the RS Jet carries the note racing use only in the Range Book 2027, page 39. That means a circuit, not the road home. For road riding with this helmet Shark offers VZ36015P, clear for all users or TE50 for daytime use.
Low winter sun is also short-lived; by late afternoon the light can be too weak for any mirrored screen, so pack the clear one.
Keeping it serviceable
Cold mornings tempt people to wipe a damp visor with a glove. Resist that with a mirrored screen: grit in the glove leaves fine lines in the blue coating. Let it dry or dab it with a clean microfibre cloth, and soften insects with water first. Keep solvents and glass sprays away entirely. The anti-scratch treatment protects the visor; the mirror sits on top of it.
How it goes on
Unlock the fitted screen at the side mechanisms and lift it away. Line up the blue visor with the four mounting points, press until both sides are locked, and test the travel from closed to fully open. A Pinlock is set with Shark's adjustable tension; its own number is VZ36005P.
Ordering by part number
If an order line only says VZ36030P, we still need the colour. VZ36030PBLUTU is blue. The price is identical for all colours on this number except rainbow.
