DescriptionThe whole story▼
On the OXO small shell, the chin bar carries the Sikter decor as well as the lock that holds the front of the helmet closed. FX8702P is the Sikter chin bar, sold in two finish codes, WUB and KUS. Shark's price list gives the OXO as the helmet in its model column.
Key Features
- Chin bar for the OXO small shell, Sikter decor
- Finish codes WUB and KUS
- Supplier line CHIN BAR SMALL SHELL SIKTER
- Listed weight 170 g
Supplied as
One chin bar in the Sikter decor and the code you select. Shark lists the fixing screw set for the OXO chin bar as a separate article, FX8725P; the price list does not say that screws are included here, so plan on reusing sound screws or ordering that set.
Ordering by part number
Every OXO chin bar is a separate number, and they differ by shell, finish and decor. FX8702P is the gloss-listed Sikter bar for the small shell; the matt Sikter bar for the same shell is FX8703P, code GUQ. The other small-shell numbers, FX8701P and FX8704P to FX8709P plus FX8760P and FX8761P, carry no Sikter decor. WUB and KUS have no colour name from Shark, so match the code on your helmet. The large-shell Sikter chin bar with the same codes is FX8712P.
Fitting
The chin bar carries the locking mechanism, so fitting it is a job to do carefully or leave to a workshop. Once fitted, close it and pull firmly on the front: both sides must engage and hold before the helmet is worn.
A note on structural repairs
A chin bar swaps paint, decor and a damaged latch. It does not restore a shell or liner that has absorbed an impact. If the helmet has been down hard, it should be retired, whatever the chin bar looks like.
