DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Aeron cheek pads are sized in an unusual way. Shark lists IN01040P in two versions, one labelled XS/M/L/XXL and one labelled S/XL, both in grey and both at the same price. Here is what that means for your order.

Key Features

  • Part number IN01040P, Shark designation CHEEKS
  • Grey (code GRE)
  • Two size versions: XS/M/L/XXL and S/XL
  • 96 g listed
  • HS code 6117808000

Sizing

Each version covers a group of helmet sizes rather than a single one. If your Aeron is size XS, M, L or XXL, choose the version marked XS/M/L/XXL. If it is S or XL, choose S/XL. Shark gives no thickness figures in the list, so the grouping is all there is to go on. The helmet size is printed on the label inside the helmet, and the old pad usually shows its own marking too.

Fitting

Cheek pads come out towards the front of the helmet. Note how the old pad is located before you remove it, pull it free gently, and push the new one into the same position until it is held all round. Check that the edge of the pad lies neatly against the shell opening and that the chin strap runs freely. Then put the helmet on: the cheeks should feel firm without pressing painfully.

Scope of delivery

The designation is plural, CHEEKS in English and JOUES in French. Shark does not state a piece count on the line, so we will not either. The crown liner is a separate part, IN01010P.

Care

Pads collect sweat and skin oils. Take them out to clean them and follow the care instructions supplied with your helmet. Let them dry completely at room temperature before refitting; damp padding does not hold its shape well. Replace the pads when they have flattened to the point where the helmet moves on your head.
