DescriptionThe whole story▼
Purpose-designed for the Triumph Speed 400, the Puig ABS front plate carries German TÜV-compliant ABE homologation (KBA 38007 WS22), making it one of the few retro-style front plates you can fit with full confidence in its road-legal credentials. Its race-number-board aesthetic sharpens the Speed 400's retro-vintage character without compromising the aerodynamic behaviour of the front end.
Key Features
- Certified to ABE KBA 38007 WS22 — German type-approval ensures straightforward MOT and registration compliance; always verify the ABE certificate against your specific motorcycle's details before fitting.
- Manufactured from high-impact ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) for a resilient, lightweight finish that shrugs off road debris and minor knocks.
- Aerodynamically profiled to improve airflow management and front-end stability at speed.
- Complies with the quality standards of the German TÜV certification for additional peace of mind.
- Available in matte black or carbon look finish, and in symmetric or asymmetric shapes to suit different styling preferences.
- Dedicated mounting kit for the Speed 400 means a clean, precise fit without universal adaptors or modifications.
Design Heritage
Puig drew on the tradition of race-number boards when developing this front plate range, translating a competition aesthetic into a road-legal accessory for modern retro machines. Where generic universal plates can look approximate, the Speed 400-specific version aligns precisely with the headlight surround and fairing lines, preserving the proportions Triumph's designers intended while adding a purposeful, competition-derived accent.
Build Quality
At 475 g the plate adds negligible unsprung or rotational mass. ABS construction resists cracking under UV exposure and impact far better than cheaper thermoplastics, and its surface takes paint, graphics and number-plate film cleanly if you choose to personalise the look further. The finish — whether matte black or carbon look — is applied at the moulding stage for durability rather than as a thin surface coat.
Fitment & Compatibility
This listing is for the model-specific version designed exclusively for the following motorcycle:
- Triumph Speed 400 (2024–2025)
A dedicated mounting kit is included for this fitment. Puig also produces a universal-mount variant for retro bikes without model-specific hardware — confirm you are ordering the correct reference before purchase. Please review the full ABE KBA 38007 WS22 certificate carefully to verify suitability for your registered machine.
